"All children, except one, grow up. They soon know that they will grow up, and the way Wendy knew was this. One day when she was two years old she was playing in a garden, and she plucked another flower and ran with it to her mother. I suppose she must have looked rather delightful, for Mrs. Darling put her hand to her heart and cried, "Oh, why can't you remain like this for ever!" This was all that passed between them on the subject, but henceforth Wendy knew that she must grow up. You always know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end."
However, it was noticed by all, that 14 years into the beginning of her end, that Dakota Rose was doing just fine. And if someone ever really thought about about it, they would still cry, "Oh, why can't she remain like this for ever!" Because everybody had noticed, except for the occasional little cruelty that young people engage in as a rite of passage, that Dakota Rose was just about perfect, and would someday make some lucky high school jock a fine wife. And when Dakota has reached the ripe old age of 19, she would have probably been married with a baby or two, and already regreting that she married the dumb high school jock who spends all day drinking beer and watching football on TV with his loser friends. But, Dakota didn't take that path, and just maybe she can thank her sister for that.
If you ever have an older sister who decides to rename herself, just for the sake of my argument, lets say Kiki Kannabal, you can probably expect that she will bring much turbulance into your life. And Dakota had exactly such an older sister.
